This project was easier for me that last week’s project and much easier than the project from two weeks ago. I think this is because I’m getting used to the Flash software. I was glad to find a way, using masking, to imitate a shutter effect. I have been trying to do this for two weeks, but couldn’t seem to build a frame out of multiple graphics that could smoothly collapse and enlarge like a diaphragm. The masking feature made that task much, much easier.

I did have problems uploading the HTML page this week. I have not been using the Flash-generated HTML wrapper to upload files to the edtech2 server and was encouraged last week by my professor to do this. Unfortunately, I couldn’t get it to work this week, but will continue trying.

Even after revising the HTML page in Dreamweaver so the video embed works on Firefox and Internet Explorer, it wouldn’t work on my version of Google Chrome (Firefox and Internet Explorer work fine). The .swf file on the edtech2 server plays just fine on any browser, including Chrome, so there must be something in the HTML page that I imported from Flash and then revised in Dreamweaver that is preventing Chrome from properly playing the .swf embed.

I also had trouble (again) with FileZilla. The FTP client in Dreamweaver appears to be the only effective way for me to upload files to the edtech2 server.
